Acupuncture involves the insertion of very fine needles into specific points of the body. It helps to maintain equilibrium by regulating the flow of ‘qi’ or energy in the body. For various reasons the ‘qi’ can become unbalanced, which can result in symptoms such as joint dysfunction and/or systemic problems. Acupuncture can be an effective therapy to reduce pain and restore musculo-skeletal balance.
As an acupuncturist and depending on the patient’s particular needs, Brian primarily uses acupuncture as an adjunct to either specialised therapy equipment (see equipment), and or specific adjustments, muscle energy techniques, cranial-sacral therapy, as well as passive motion or manipulative therapy; in order to enhance patient recovery.
